Judy Simon, MS, RD, LDN, National Nutritionist at the Administration for Community Living, Administration on Aging, has decades of experience working in long term care, rehab and community settings. As an Academy member and past Healthy Aging DPG Chair and Treasurer, Ms. Simon has had a long-term interest in addressing malnutrition in community-based older adults, including several Academy and related professional experiences: Evidence Analysis Center Malnutrition in Older Adults, Community Interventions; Committee for Public Health and Community Nutrition: Food and Nutrition Security Task Force 2016-2017; reviewer: Position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Society for Nutrition and SNEB: Food and Nutrition Programs for Community-Residing Older Adults, and management of the inaugural virtual conference for the Healthy Aging DPG: Malnutrition Care for Older Adults Across Care Settings (virtual conference, peer-reviewed newsletter and member-benefit malnutrition resources). In addition, Ms. Simon is the founder and visionary of the Community Malnutrition Resource Hub, housed on the National Council on Aging website; workgroup member, Malnutrition Quality Collaborative for the National Blueprint: Achieving Quality Malnutrition Care for Older Adults (2017); and lead a highly successful Administration for Community Living Innovations in Nutrition Services grant focused on providing nutritional care to community-based older adults.
