Dr. Crayton served as the 90th President of the nearly 100 year old organization of over 80,000+ professionals, 2015-2016. For over 50 years, she has served as an innovative nutrition leader at the district, state and national levels. She was awarded Professor Emeritus at Auburn University upon retirement. She is the Director of Living Well Associates, LLC. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Dietetic Internship at Oakwood University at Huntsville, AL. She graduated from Grambling State University (Louisiana), St. Louis University (Missouri), and Auburn University (Alabama). She specializes in Nutrition Education for the Public. She is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on topics related to nutrition and health literacy. During her 40 year tenure in Extension, she developed many Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program publications (EFNEP), several curricula and training programs. Dr. Crayton has served The Academy on many levels, the Board of Directors and the Foundation. She served as a Professional Issues Delegate, a member of the House of Delegates Leadership Team and attended several Leadership Development Institutes and Public Policy Workshops. She served as Chair of the Nutrition Education for the Public and member of the FCP and HEN DPGs. She is a member of the NOBIDAN and Past President of the Alabama Dietetic Association and the Tuskegee District Dietetics Association. She presently serves on the Alabama Dietetics Associations Licensure Board. She was elected to serve as Co-Chair of the colaboration between the AND and the National Baptist Convention task force on health initiatives.
