Ayesha Sherzai, MD, MAS, is a vascular neurologist, research scientist, and co-director of the Brain Health and Alzheimer’s Prevention Program at Loma Linda University Health. She completed dual training in preventive medicine and neurology at Loma Linda University, has a masters in clinical research from the University of California San Diego, and is currently finishing an MPH in nutritional epidemiology at Loma Linda University. She completed a fellowship in vascular neurology and epidemiology at Columbia University. She is also a trained plant-based chef. Along with her husband, Dr. Dean Sherzai, she is currently leading the largest community-based brain health research initiative in the country, Beach Cities Healthy Minds Initiative, and in the process of expanding the brain health initiative to other cities throughout the country. Dr. Ayesha Sherzai is also using a community-based participatory research model to investigate the impact made by women brain health ambassadors in African American churches in Los Angeles. She is co-author of the book, “The Alzheimer’s Solution: A Breakthrough Program to Prevent and Reverse the Symptoms of Cognitive Decline at Every Age.”
