Catherine Christie is Associate Dean and Professor in the Brooks College of Health at the University of North Florida. A Registered Dietitian, Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and Fellow of the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association, Dr. Christie earned her degrees from Florida State University including a Ph.D. and M.S. in Food and Nutrition. After many years in private practice and continuing education, she joined the faculty at the University of North Florida in 2001. At UNF, she has served as the Masters Dietetic Internship Director and Inaugural Chair of the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics. She received the Distinguished Professor award from UNF in 2018.

Dr. Christie is a Past President of the Florida Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. She also served for six years as Chairman of the Florida Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Council which regulates the nutrition profession in Florida.She is co-author of four books including The Latino Food Lovers Glossary, Fat is Not Your Fate, Eat to Stay Young and Id Kill for a Cookie, multiple book chapters and peer reviewed journal articles and serves as Editor of the Florida Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Manual of Medical Nutrition Therapy. She currrently serves on the Consumer Protection and Licensure Subcommittee of the cademy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
