Janice Chow, MS, RD, is a San Francisco Bay Area-based Registered Dietitian, recognized nutrition expert, author and speaker. Through her private practice The Mindful Chow, she empowers Asians to break their cultural obsession with thinness and build a better relationship with food, using the Health At Every Size approach. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from UC Berkeley before completing her Dietetic Internship and Masters of Science in Dietetics & Nutrition at Tufts University. Janice has 8 years of experience in clinical nutrition, community wellness and nutrition education promoting cultural competencies. She has been an active volunteer in the dietetics field, serving for the former Chinese American Dietitians group and currently as an Executive Committee member for Asian American & Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Member Interest Group. She has been a preceptor for clinical rotations and a mentor for Diversify Dietetics. Her writing and expertise have been featured in numerous publications, media outlets and podcasts including WellSeek, Good Housekeeping, MSN, Mx. Asian American, and many more. Lastly, she has been a speaker for several Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics webinars sharing about food, culture and social factors that impact healthcare in Asian Pacific Islander populations.
