Temitope Alao-Sanni is a Registered Dietitian with over five years’ experience across different domains in dietetics, including research, clinical, and community nutrition. She is a full member of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria and the Association of Nigerian Dietitians.
Resulting from her passion for improving the health and wellbeing of individuals through nutrition, Temitope founded Diet Tech Africa, an organization leveraging technology to educate and empower people of African origin to develop lifestyle practices that reduce premature or preventable mortality from Non-Communicable Diseases.
Temitope has conducted clinical research assessing the prevalence of nutrition-related risk factors associated with Metabolic Syndrome among health workers. She worked as the research coordinator and site Dietitian on an NIH funded study analyzing the effect of Diet on Chronic Kidney Disease progression among Africans. She also worked as a community Dietitian for Unilever Nigeria PLC, where she educated women and girls of reproductive age in rural communities about Iron Deficiency Anemia. She volunteered at the Lagos food bank Initiative for 2 years and led the team that flagged off innovative projects like the Nutritious Meal Intervention for Vulnerable Mothers and Childre (NUMEPLAN) program. She has worked as a Clinical Dietitian at 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
A well-respected voice in her home country, Temitope has been invited to television/radio stations, corporate organizations and schools to speak about nutrition, health, and wellbeing.
