Emma is a Registered Dietitian specializing in Irritable Bowel Syndrome with particular interest in the dietary management of adverse gut symptoms. She is owner of The Biome Kitchen, a virtual nutrition practice serving clients seeking nutrition for digestive wellness and good for your gut recipes. Emmas 33 year career as a Registered Dietitian has involved clinical research in obesity and critical care at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA under the late George Blackburn, MD, PhD. She ran a successful pediatric private practice called Nutrition for Kids, Teens and Families outside of Philadelphia PA and over the last decade worked with nutrition marketing , media and culinary nutrition programming. Emma is a FODMAP certified dietitian (Monash University) and shares her knowledge of the low FODMAP diet and Gluten Free Diets with her IBS and SIBO patients.
In 2010 Emma was named One of the Top 10 RDs Making a Difference by Todays Dietitian and named Best of Philly nutritionist by Philadelphia Magazine. Emma received the Academys Outstanding Nutrition Entrepreneur Award in 2018. She volunteered on the Executive Board of Nutrition Entrepreneur’s Dietetic Practice Group (DPG) as Membership Chair, Sponsorship Chair and then Chair (2006-2013) and is presently Past Chair of the Womens Health DPG (2018-2021) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Emma holds a Masters in Nutrition and Communications from Boston University and a Masters in Business Administration from Eastern University. Her Dietetic Internship was at Bostons Brighams and Womens Hospital- a Harvard affiliated teaching hospital.
